Creating a Zoomify

I was thinking of what I was going to put into my zoomify the other day and remembered how I had looked at the river island website not so long ago. It reminded me of the zoomify I was creating as you can zoom into the clothes on this site, so I went on to get an idea of how mine would work out. When you look at all their different clothes and shoes each individual item has their own zoomify. You click on the item that opens up into a new window which my zoomify does too and to get back to the previous page you must close down this window. I found this a great website as it gave me an insight into what I could do. I decided that I didn't want just one item or picture to appear in my zoomify, but unlike river islands website I wanted a lot of different pictures so people could have a wider variety of things to look at in detail. You can zoom in and out and scroll side to side or up and down in the river island site and also my one. I dont like how you can't minimize the items on river island as you cant link back to what you were looking at or what you found. Once you close it it is gone and you must do this to look at other items. On my zoomify it will ba a seperate window that you can minimize which will be more beneficial to viewers.

Choosing a background design

I have found another website which has had an influence on me when designing my website. I immediately liked the background of this particular website. Here is a link to it http://www.2sisterscreationstx.net/
It has a stained glass effect around the content. I would like to have some sort of effect similar to this but the colour we have chosen for our website background is pink so the effect will be somewhat different to the one seen on this site. We have found a filter in photoshop where we can create the stained glass effect so will use this. I love the way it appears on each page and not just the home one as this will happen on my website also. I don't like how the stained glass effect works as a border and not as a full background design because on the website I'm creating at the moment I hope to have the background design behind the content also and this does not feature on the website I have found.

Interesting hair website design

So we have been asked to set up a blog and discuss web pages that we like or relate to the current website we are designing and creating. Here is a link to a website I have found and I like the layout of it.

This website is something like the Idea I had in mind for my own website. I like how on the left hand side there is roll over buttons where you can enter into the different areas of the website. On the left hand corner there is a place you can click to enquire about appointments, but for my website I hope to have a logo in place there. I like the title above pictures and the fact that there is pictures appeals to me as this is exactly the idea I had. They have three pictures on the home page whereas I would like to have just one large eye catching picture. I would also like to have a link to a Zoomify or gallery as they do on their page to see various pictures. The colour of their website is not as I had intended but the layout is definitely how I vision my website. There is not much I don't like about this website. It's easy to use and visually attractive. The home page has changed since I have been on last and now their is a video in place on the page instead of pictures which I don't think makes it as attractive. Perhaps if there was a link on the home page to video it would look better.
